Study Abroad in spanish country HELP please!!!!!!!?

Next summer i will be 17 and i want to study abroad. i was supposed to go to mexico this summer to study but didnt because Of The Swine Flu. I would like to study on or near the beach and i live in the city so crime doesnt bother me but im also going to be a 17 yr old female alone in a forgien country. I am in the spanish program at my high school so i take spanish,math,P.E/Health,a movie,history, and culture class Completly in spanish. I would like to study in the dominican republic,costa rica,or columbia. i want opinions to help make my decision and websites links would be helpful! Also does anybody know if i would be old enough to work aboard….maybe at a hotel or something??????

You would need to obtain a proper work visa for any location in order to work which may provide quite difficult if you are under 18.
