H1n1 Influenza

Is the H1n1 Influenza vaccine safe if my son has had Steven-Johnsons Syndrome?

Just wondered if anyone knows anything about the ingredients in the H1n1. My son is highly allergic to sulfa. He was diagnosed with SDJ when he was 4 and the doctor told me that the next time he gets the blisters from sulfa, he could die. But Swine Flu could just as easily kill him. Any websites that are legit or useful info would be very appreciated! Thank You in advance.

There’s no sulfa in the vaccine but I believe that a flu vaccine is contraindicated with Stevens-Johnson. However, I suggest and I STRONGLY suggest that you speak to your son’s doctor as SJS is a rare but potential adverse reaction although flu can also cause it. Catch-22. This is NOT a question you should be asking anyone other than your son’s doctor!
