Swine Flu Statistics

Has any body out there actually had Swine flu HIN1?

I keep seeing many conflicting statistics about world/country death/infection rates from Journalist’s, Government’s and Pharmaceutical company’s ( who all have financial vested interests in keeping people scared ) But I’ve never read any personal accounts. ie. what it felt like, how long it lasted, what drugs, if any, did you take to get rid of it etc…. Personally, not really worried, just interested because I get the impression this is all based on money, as usual.

Easiest way to describe it is just like regular flu, only the symptoms are worse. I had real bad chest pains for about a week, which was probably the worst part, and the temperature is a bit of a drag, but aside from that, it’s not terrifying.

The worst of it lasted for just over a week, but the coughing, sneezing etc. (the milder problems) lasted for another week after that.

I was given tamiflu to get rid of it

EDIT: Like the answerer said above, she has a patient on life support. It affects people really differently, even the healthy ones. Lots of people at our school had it, but none were seriously ill.
