swine Influenza and spanish influenza…?

ok so in twilight it says that Edward was dying of spanish influenza. is that the same thing as the swine flu/H1n1 Virus?

It is said that the Swine flu only varies by 25-30 amino acid chains in its DNA compared to the Spanish Flu (over about 4400 amino acid chains).

The fact that they are so similar is probably what’s causing this huge media hysteria, by the way.
